The TXB127 is an internal PCIe (1x SFF-8643 72-pin) PCI Express x8 bifurcation riser card. PCI Express bifurcation means splitting a PCI Express bus into smaller multiple slots. For example, an x8 PCI-Express port can be bifurcated into two x4 PCI-Express ports. This can be configured from the motherboard BIOS if you want to split an existing channel. This adapter is designed to connect high-performance 2.5" NVMe U.2 (SFF-8639) SSDs via an SFF-8643 cable. U.2 SSDs can be loaded into backplanes with SFF-8643 connectors interfacing with the adapter, allowing U.2 SSDs to be used like drive cartridges.
Specification:
Note: The motherboard with a CPU and BIOS must support bifurcation to ensure the PCIe x8 link width can be split into two x4 NVMe SSD link widths. If not supported, the TXB127 riser card will only support a single NVMe device with a PCIe x4 link width.
